Oh, to be young again... Still, there's plenty of things for the whole family to do this weekend - even if it means the grown-ups can only watch.

THE CROCODIAMOND The highlight of the London Mozart Players' family concert on Sunday is sure to be the world premiere of this piece.

It's the result of a collaboration between award-winning children's author Anthony Horowitz (of teen spy Alex Rider fame) and composer Jonathan Dove, and tells the story of a daring diamond heist in a London museum.

Narrated by Simon Callow, there's enough drama to keep everyone on tenterhooks, and it's huge fun too. St John's, Smith Square, SW1 (020-7222 1061). Sun 16 Nov, 3pm, £8, child £5, family ticket £20.

COTTLE & AUSTIN ELECTRIC CIRCUS From the team that brought you the Moscow and Chinese State Circuses, 'Europe's Greatest' now rolls in to town. Apart from boasting 'the funniest clowns ever' - including Titto from Portugal --highlights include Irena Baltadjie (she swings by her hair), the flying Ciobanu (trapeze stars from Romania), and the undisputed star of the show, half-pint Hungarian Pityu Toth.

Dubbed the world's smallest superstar, he's a fully grown adult who measures in at a meagre 27.5 inches tall, so bring your opera glasses. Cottle And Austin Circus, Clapham Common Southside, SW4 (07030 170170). Tue-Fri, 5pm & 8pm, Sat & Sun, 2pm & 5pm, until Sun 23 Nov, £8- £20, child £6-£15.

GOODBYE MOG Since the Seventies, Mog has been one of the nation's best-loved fictional felines. Now author/illustrator Judith Kerr bids a fond farewell to her contrary and mischievous multi-million selling creation, who finally shuffles off her mortal coil and heads for the great cattery in the skies.

Judith will be signing copies of the paperback edition of Goodbye Mog (Collins, £4.99), a children's picture book that tackles bereavement with great sensitivity and tact. Harrods, Children's Theatre, 4th floor, Knightsbridge, SW7 (020-7730 1234, ext 3523) Sat 15 Nov, 2.30pm-3.30pm, no need to book.

TOYS AT THE GALLERY You'll find a wide collection of teddy bears, rocking horses, puppets, skittles and all sorts of traditional toyshop treats at this exhibition.

The emphasis is on handmade, quality playthings, so it's a good excuse to get started on the kids' Christmas shopping. All the toys on display are made by members of the British Toymakers Guild, and because you're buying direct from the makers, you should save yourself a few quid too. The.gallery@oxo, Oxo Tower Wharf, Bargehouse Street, SE1 (020-7401 2255). Mon-Sun 11am-6pm, ends Sun 23 Nov, free.
