Pop sensation: Shakira will play Glastonbury

The event celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Shakira said: "Glastonbury is famous for being one of the best festival crowds, so I'm sure I'll have a great time."

Organiser Emily Eavis said: "Shakira is not only an amazing pop star but also socially and politically forward thinking; she's working incredibly hard for good causes around the world.

"We feel honoured to have the 'She Wolf' herself come to Worthy Farm."
