Film director Matthew Vaughn has avoided a driving ban thanks to a lawyer dubbed "Mr Loophole".

Vaughn, 34, who is married to supermodel Claudia Schiffer, was caught driving at 95mph in his £70,000 Range Rover on a stretch of the M11 in Essex.

However, solicitor Nick Freeman argued that the case against the father-of-two was flawed and it was dropped before magistrates could hear any evidence.

In the past, Mr Freeman has helped snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan escape a drink-driving charge In Vaughn's case, the lawyer - who has also helped a number of football stars including Wayne Rooney and David Beckham beat motoring charges - found errors in police procedures and the case ended after two minutes at Epping magistrates court.

After learning the outcome, Mr Vaughn said: "I'm over the moon. I need my licence because my wife doesn't drive. I've been cleared by one of the best lawyers in England."
