Veteran British singer Rod Stewart said today he will take his first Grammy "everywhere" he travels after finally snaring one of the music industry's top awards.

The 60-year-old won the traditional pop vocal album Grammy for his album "Stardust ... The Great American Songbook Volume III."
The awards were announced last night in Los Angeles.

Stewart was speaking from the eastern Australian city of Brisbane, where he was preparing to launch his latest Australian tour.

"After all these years I was quite liking not winning, but somehow I'll learn to live with it," said Stewart.

"In fact I intend to take it with me everywhere," he added.
