Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Fields has gone into labour with the couples’ second child - and rather than just announce this and sit quietly with his wife while she prepares to give birth, Robbie has decided to live tweet the important occasion.

Fans who follow the former Take That singer on Twitter are being treated to videos of the 40-year-old supporting Ayda, 35, as she goes through child birth.

One video shows the charming crooner holding his wife’s hand as she regulates her breathing into a pillow while clearly in discomfort from the contractions.

However it looks as though Robbie is aware that his actions are a bit odd as he captioned one of the videos: “Vanity or comfort?”.

Robbie - who has daughter Theodora Rose Williams with Ayda - announced the news that the pair were expecting their second child in April.

Hopefully Ayda is okay with being filmed while she goes through labour – we can’t imagine being too thrilled with having a camera pointed at us as we suffer contractions.
