Renee Zellweger's red carpet turn revealed a split in her dress

Yet it might be hoped that Renée Zellweger, who plays her on screen, might have a bit more decorum.

As Zellweger strode onto the red carpet for the latest movie in London, a gust of wind carried her dress away revealing a rather severe split up her thigh.

Moments later, posing for photographers, she again unintentionally flashed when she bent down to rearrange the polkadot creation - now sopping wet from the rain - when it wound uncomfortably around her leg.

The 38-year-old actress has lost so much weight in recent months that she joked that the floor-length gown she was wearing last night weighed as much as she did.

As she traipsed along the carpet at the opening of Bee Movie in a Caroline Herrera dress in pouring rain, she joked: "It is soaking wet. I am like a sponge.

"My dress weighs another six stones."

But she appeared to get offended when it was suggested her curves had disappeared.

She said brusquely, pulling a face: "Are you telling me my curves are absent? I think I am doing very well, thank you very much.

Asked whether she was dating Sir Paul McCartney after they were spotted enjoying dinner together recently, she became coy, giggled and blushed and refused to answer.

She would only say: "I have not seen him since I have been in London."
