Sophisticated pair: Brad Pitt accompanied Angelina Jolie to her premiere in New York

Two of the most glamorous couples in the world appeared on red carpets on either side of the US last night.
In Los Angeles, newlyweds Katy Perry and Russell Brand were at the premiere of Julie Taymor's adaptation of The Tempest, in which the comedian plays Trinculo the jester.
Meanwhile, in New York, Brad Pitt accompanied Angelina Jolie to the first showing of her new movie The Tourist, which also stars Johnny Depp.
