Usually it's only royalty that attracts this kind of media attention.

But in Namibia, the only people who matter are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Officials are trying to stop journalists following Hollywood's hottest couple.

A South African photographer and three French photographers were ordered to leave the country or face arrest.

Prime minister Nahas Angula told the press: "You guys are harassing her. If a person doesn't want to be photographed then that person deserves protection. Harassment is not allowed in Namibia."

In a statement, the couple said: "We love Africa and to be here in Namibia with our family is very special for us. To the local people who have been so kind and gracious, thank you for making us feel at home."

"We kindly ask for privacy so we can enjoy this beautiful country with our children."

The couple and their entourage are staying at the luxury Burning Shores resort hotel between the scenic old colonial German town of Swakopmond and the resort of Walvis Bay.

A Namibian official said last week that Jolie might have Pitt's baby in the southern African nation.

Despite tight security, photographers have snapped Pitt and heavily pregnant Jolie with her adopted children, Maddox and Zahara.

Last week, they were spotted at a KFC outlet and in a pet shop.

They also visited a jeweller's, sparking rumours Pitt was buying Jolie an engagement ring.
