Peter Andre has instructed his lawyers to fight estranged wife Katie Price for joint custody of their children.

The singer looked tired and emotionally drained as he left his solicitor's office in London yesterday after crunch talks over his impending divorce from the former glamour model.

He is understood to have been advised to fight for full custody of son Junior, three, and 23-month-old daughter Princess Tiaamii, to ensure he at least gets joint custody.

A friend said: "He is devastated at what is happening but he knows if a divorce goes ahead Katie will fight tooth and nail for everything.

"He loves his kids and the idea he might have limited access is breaking his heart."

Andre, 36, is also demanding all his belongings back that Price, 31, had removed from their Surrey mansion and put in storage, while he was in Cyprus.

He was said to be furious to discover when he returned that she had changed the locks on the £3million home, denying him access to his music studio and valuable equipment.

And he is also expected to consult his legal team about what rights he has to Price's estimated £40million fortune.

He is currently staying at the home of Price's former manager Claire Powell, who stopped representing her days after the split.

Price and Andre, who met on reality TV show I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here in 2004, announced two weeks ago that they were separating after three-and-a-half years of marriage.

While he sought solace with his family in Cyprus, she fled to the Maldives with their children but left her disabled eldest child Harvey, her son with footballer Dwight Yorke, at home in the UK.

She flew back into the UK last night but refused to talk to reporters as she donned black sunglasses and quickly made her way out of Gatwick Airport.
