Famous names from Bob Hope to Tom Cruise and Barack Obama popped in for a chat, but now Oprah Winfrey is pulling the plug on her fabulously successful talk show.

The star, whose TV career has made her a £1.4 billion fortune, has announced the 25th season in 2011 of the ABC daytime show will be the last.

Industry insiders think Winfrey, 55, who broadcasts from Chicago and is one of the most influential opinion-makers in the US, will move with a similar format to a Los Angeles cable network.
