A new inquiry has been launched into the murder of US rapper Notorious B.I.G. - nine years after he was shot.

The former crack dealer, whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was gunned down in Los Angeles just months after hip-hop rival Tupac Shakur was killed in Las Vegas.

A team of detectives has been assigned to the case after LA police were told to pay £626,000 to Wallace's family. Meanwhile, a US judge has stopped sales of B.I.G.'s 1994 album Ready To Die after it used a sample without permission.
