Troubled actor Nick Nolte who rose to fame in the film Down and Out in Beverly Hills, looks as dishevelled as one of the characters he played in his box office smash films.

The red-faced, shorn haired actor, 66, emerges from a doctor's office wearing a trenchcoat over his pyjamas, slippers, and carrying a beat-up old bag.

He looks amazingly like the character he played in film Down and Out in Beverly Hills (below) and a world away from the Oscar nominated actor best known for roles in Prince of Tides, opposite singer Barbaba Streisand, and Cape Fear with acting legend Robert De Niro.

With well-documented arrests for being under the influence of drugs, including the date rape drug GHB, in 2002, Nolte has had spells in rehab to battle his addictions.
Dressed to go out in his pyjamas, it looks like he is prepared and ready for a swift return.
