Newlywed Jamie Theakston is set to become a father for the first time, he revealed today.

Theakston's wife Sophie Siegle, 34, is due to give birth in April.

The couple married on Saturday at a star-studded bash near their Sussex home.

Theakston, 36, met Siegle, manager of the private members' club Soho House, at the Oscars ceremony two years ago and proposed to her while on holiday in Paris in April.

Happy couple: After marrying last weekend, Jamie and wife Sophie are expecting their first baby

The DJ and TV presenter, who counts model Erin O'Connor and Nip/Tuck star Joely Richardson among his exes, revealed the news to listeners of his Heart 106.2 Breakfast show this morning while discussing the guests at his wedding.

He joked: "I can tell you there was a very special guest there but I can't tell you his name because he hasn't got one.

"I can't even tell you if it was a boy or a girl because myself and my new bride won't find out until April."

He then dedicated a song to the baby, saying: "This is for my new wife and my first child."

Guests at the wedding included DJ Chris Evans and his new bride Natasha Shishmanian, Little Britain star David Walliams, ex-footballer Ian Wright and presenter Richard Bacon.

Former Top of the Pops presenter Theakston recently said his mother had been trying to persuade him to start a family.

He said at the time: "My mum started nagging me when I was 19, saying, 'Why aren't you married yet?'

"She wants to be a grandmother and I hope she doesn't have to wait too long."

Theakston, who was famously photographed in a Mayfair brothel in 2001, has also been linked in the past to Amanda Holden and Natalie Appleton.
