Supermodel Naomi Campbell is joining the line-up on Michael Parkinson's new chat show following his defection to ITV1.

The 34-year-old follows the likes of Hollywood star Tom Cruise, who will join Parkinson on his first week.

Other stars on the billing for the ex-BBC host's first series with the rival broadcaster include actor Denzel Washington.

Supermodel Campbell, who recently won a privacy case against the Daily Mirror, will "talk candidly about her life in the public eye", on the second week's show.

The Streatham-born model, who claimed victory after law lords said the newspaper had intruded too far into her drug addiction problems, will be joined by Simon Cowell.

As well as Cowell, whose new Pop Idol-style show X Factor is also about to launch on ITV1, week two will also feature The Manchurian Candidate star Washington.

Cruise will be in London for the UK premiere of his latest movie Collateral when he appears on Parkinson's debut show in September, along with stand-up comic Billy Connolly.

Parkinson, 69, who left the BBC after channel bosses tried to shunt his talk show into a new time slot to make way for the return of Match Of The Day, said they were "two marvellous line-ups" to celebrate a new home for the show.
