Former pop star Michelle Heaton proved she is embracing the single life just days after it was announced she'd split from husband Andy Scott-Lee.

The former Liberty X singer hit a Dublin nightclub with a group of girlfriends after appearing as a guest judge at Miss Universe Ireland, where she partied with reality television star Bianca Gascoigne and a strapping male companion.

Newly single Heaton was flirting up a storm with the tall mystery man and at one point they were even holding hands, according to onlookers.

Heaton - who married Scott-Lee in 2006 - was not wearing her wedding band.

A spokesman for Heaton said last week: 'I can confirm the two have split up. They need to sort out their personal problems.'

Heaton and Scott-Lee, a former member of boyband 3SL, married in a lavish winter Wonderland themed wedding, which was covered by a celebrity weekly magazine.

Guests included Andy's sister, Steps star Lisa Scott-Lee, glamour model Jordan, former Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus, Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding and Liz McClarnon of Atomic Kitten.

After they wed, Scott-Lee revealed they had signed a prenuptial agreement.

He said at the time: 'Obviously Michelle is more well off than I am and it's also to protect the property I have with my brother. Whatever we buy together will be split according to the contributions we make. It’s a wise move.'

He added: 'Hopefully it will be forever, but you never know.'
