Rumours are rife that Mel B will be replacing Dannii Minogue on the X Factor judging panel.

Dannii, who will be on maternity leave, is stepping down from the auditions stage and 34-year-old Scary Spice is said to be taking her place.

She has now dropped the biggest hint yet that the rumours are true telling new! magazine: "I can't really talk about that because I don't think it's my place to, but I'm sure some announcement's going to happen at some point and then we'll all know!"

She also talked about how she loved her feisty image, saying: "I'll always be Scary Spice! It's where I come from, that's me, that's how I got started in the entertainment world.

"I have a big respect for that title. I'm proud of it. And it means I get to scare people whenever I want."

Dannii is poised to return to the ITV talent show for the live shows and has met with X Factor chiefs, who are keen to see her make a comeback after the birth of her baby.
