Maroon 5 on the British music stars they've never heard of
He may have sold over 120,000 copies of his album, Disc-Overy, but Tinie Tempah is still unknown to American Grammy winning band, Maroon 5.
The Californian band, who are currently on a sold out tour of the U.K, admitted that they have no idea who Tinie Tempah is.
When asked what they thought of the double Brit Award winning rapper, guitarist James Valentine, said: "I think my finger is off the pulse right now. I don't know who he is but I'll put it on my list."
James went on to say: "We haven't been touring over here for a while so maybe that's why I haven't heard of him."
Tinie Tempah need not feel too bad however as the band, who has sold nearly 25 million albums worldwide, had also never heard of The Script.
James Valentine said that a fan had once asked him about the Irish band and now he does want to get round to listening to them.
One British artist the band do know is Rosie Hardy. The Manchester based artist designed the cover for Hands All Over, the most recent Maroon 5 album.
James added: "We were struggling with an idea for the cover and our manager found her on google."
