Louise Redknapp has opened up about finding love six years after her divorce from Jamie Redknapp.

This marks the first time that the singer, 48, has gone public with a romance in that time and she couldn’t hide her delight as she discussed how things were going with defence firm boss Drew Michael, 39, during an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women on Wednesday.

She said: “I’m very happy, he’s great, lovely, it’s really nice.

‘It’s been a really long time for me. It’s lovely to have met somebody that makes me so happy.”

Louise and Michael first set tongues wagging of a romance when they were pictured stepping out in London together last week.

She was married to Jamie for 19 years and they share two sons together, Charlie, 19, and Beau, 14.

Former England footballer and current Sky Sports pundit Jamie has also moved on by marrying Swedish model Frida Andersson-Lourie, with whom he has a two-year-old son called Raphael.

On the daytime TV show, Louise was appearing with former Eternal bandmate Kelle Bryan, also 48.

The 90s girl group has hit headlines this week after it was revealed that Louise and Bryan had pulled out of an Eternal reunion tour because Vernie and her sister Easther had refused to play any of the LBGTQ+ gigs they had scheduled over claims the community is being “hijacked” by the trans movement.

This was Louise’s first public appearance since being accused of trying to “cancel” Easther and Vernie Bennett.

Addressing the controversy, Bryan insisted that the joint appearance was not planned and she had been booked to appear on the show as a panellist a month ago.
