He called in on his first day working for Sir Alan Sugar last week, but Apprentice winner Lee McQueen is fighting fit again.

The 30-year-old former salesman looked a picture of health as he was reunited with his former television rivals at a fundraiser in London last night.

He was once again in the company of Raef Bjayou, Lucinda Ledgerwood, Claire Young, Alex Wotherspoon and Helene Speight, this time to raise money for Norwood, a leading UK charity supporting people with learning difficulties.

Lee clinched the £100,000-a-year position from fellow finalist Claire last month, but was struck down with a virus the day he was due to begin at Sir Alan's holding company Amshold in Brentwood, Essex.

His absence coincided with the hottest day of the year so far. He finally started the job at the beginning of this week.

Asked about his untimely sick day at last night's event, he quipped: 'Let me get my coat!'

He went on to say: 'Seriously though, working with Sir Alan has been an education.'

'I'm happy with my new job but I also know that I have to deliver.'

Lee is not the only Apprentice star to land an impressive new position.

Runner-up Claire recently secured a plum post with Birmingham City boss Karren Brady while Alex has been signed up by Models One, who represent supermodel du jour Agyness Dean as well as Yasmin Le Bon.
