They are not exactly catwalk material. But David Walliams and James Corden did their best supermodel impression at a Haiti earthquake fundraiser organised by Naomi Campbell.

Comedians Walliams and Corden, who finished their turn by kissing at the end of the runway, were among dozens of stars who supported the Fashion For Relief show.

Other famous faces on the catwalk included Kate Moss, Shirley Bassey, Geri Halliwell, Piers Morgan and Freddie Flintoff.

The evening raised millions of pounds for the White Ribbon Alliance, the charity supported by Sarah Brown. The Prime Minister's wife told the Standard: "The show was absolutely fantastic — Naomi is an inspiration. She put her heart and soul into this and I'm delighted it was a success for her."

Campbell, 36, who opened the show in a marquee in the grounds of Somerset House, said: "There are so many designers and people who have helped me — I couldn't have done it without them." Other newcomers to the runway included Jamelia and Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

An auction was held after the show, with a Damien Hirst painting selling for £300,000. Lotus car company sold two limited edition cars for £320,000 and £310,000. Evening Standard director Evgeny Lebedev bought a necklace by jeweller Stephen Webster for £10,000.

The United Nations has launched a new appeal for nearly $1.5 billion to help the earthquake victims, its largest appeal for a natural disaster.
