British supermodel Jourdan Dunn says that although she is based mainly in the US, she wants her son to go to school in London as she doesn’t want him to grow up with an American accent.

The catwalk star spends most of her time in New York because of work commitments, but three-year-old Riley stays with Dunn’s mother in London while she is away.

Dunn, 23, said: “My mum looks after him in Ealing when I’m over there. He starts school next year so I’m already thinking about schools.

“I don’t want him to grow up in America or go to an American school. I’d definitely rather he went to school in London. I’d hate him to have an American accent and start calling me ‘mommy’.” Soon after Riley was born, his father was jailed for possession of cocaine and Dunn parted from him, although he remains in contact with their son.

Since being discovered at 14 in Primark in Hammersmith, Dunn’s career has been on a steady rise. She is branching out, having agreed to film a second series of her cooking programme Well Dunn for rapper Jay-Z’s online channel Life + Times.

She added: “I’m getting quite a few TV offers now but don’t want to do things just for the sake of it. I still get approached in the street by agents.

“Someone from Abercrombie & Fitch asked me the other day if I wanted a job in one of their stores. I let him down gently.”
