A portrait of Johnny Vegas mimicking the Vanity Fair pose of a pregnant Demi Moore has gone on show at the National Portrait Gallery.

The picture, taken by Karl J Kaul, is among more than 50 of comedians from the past 70 years including Morecambe and Wise, in a new series of displays.

Vegas is joined on the gallery walls by other recently acquired portraits of Jimmy Carr, Mitchell and Webb and Matt Lucas.
