Joey Essex was mugged at knife point in Hammersmith on Wednesday.

The Only Way Is Essex star was approached in a car park by two men pretending to be fans, who asked if he would take a picture with them.

However, after posing for the photograph, Joey was attacked by the men who stole his £10,000 Rolex watch and then pulled a knife on him.

Joey explained: "I got a knock on my car window asking if I was Joey Essex and if I would have my picture taken. We did the picture and when I put some money in the parking ticket machine, the geezers got hold of me and threw me over.

"It wasn't until I got up that I realised they had nicked my watch and when I hit one of them back, he got out a knife."

Joey added that the men recognised his car from TOWIE and followed him into the car park.

A statement from the police said: "Officers from the Robbery Squad at Hammersmith and Fulham are investigating the incident."

Joey didn't reference the incident directly on his twitter page but he wrote today: "Thanks for your comments. Love you all x" and added

"Again, thanks for all your support. I know your all there for me and I'm there for you all! Love you x (sic)."
