The King or Queen of the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! jungle will be crowned tonight after former singer Jimmy Osmond became the latest contestant to be voted off the reality show

One of the final three - Carol Thatcher, Sid Owen, who played Ricky in EastEnders and ex-Emmerdale actress Sheree Murphy - will emerge victorious from the jungle.

Osmond smiled and said "yes" last night when the show's presenters, Ant and Dec, told him he would be booted off the programme.

The American, who was the youngest Osmond idol, was hugged by the remaining contestants before he dived into a tent to collect his belongings.

Asked by Ant and Dec if he was glad to be out, Osmond replied: "I feel as though I've won because I got past all the goals I ever wanted to.

"I never thought I would last all the way - and I'm just numb.

"I think we saw the best of all of ourselves, do you know what I mean. It was just a really cool spirit of wanting to get on and cooperate and help each other. I didn't expect that going in but what a blessing."

Asked who he thought would win, he said: "I don't really know, I think the public will decide that."

Talking about former prime minister's daughter Carol, he added: "At first she had such a large personality she kept getting bigger and bigger - there's a lot to that lady."

A teddy bear was the luxury item Osmond chose to take into the Australian outback but the sentimental toy held a few secrets.

Osmond filled it with pepper, a note from his children and it had the useful feature of eyes that lit up.

But once in the camp he told the others what he had done: "Once I realised this really was a serious game, I wanted to make sure I came clean 100% ... I don't think I was doing anything wrong."

Earlier in the day, the I'm A Celebrity contenders rehearsed for today's final show with their own awards ceremony.

The "penthouse" at their jungle camp was transformed into a temporary stage for the impromptu showbiz bash and the four celebrities took it in turn to hand out prizes.

Sid was first to take on the role of gong giver, saying there could only be one winner for most courageous camper, the "cheeky Cockney sparrow" Sheree.

"I'm so excited," Sheree said as she received her award, made from branches and twigs.

Taking her lead from the cheesiest of Hollywood acceptance speeches, Sheree mock cried as she thanked all the other celebrities and the public for voting for her.

Carol then handed Osmond the award for show entertainer, telling him: "You have regaled us with stories about your legendary career that have made us laugh."

All four celebrities took part in the daily challenge, called Satan's Slope, which saw them slide down a slippery twisting mud slide clutching a star, landing with a splash into a mud pond, swimming across the pond, then climbing back up an equally slippery and muddy slope and depositing their star into a basket.

The gang managed to deposit all their stars, securing themselves a decent meal.
