Jeremy Renner is said to be feeling “overwhelmed” by the outpouring of support he’s received following his near-fatal snowploughing accident.

The Hawkeye star was severely injured after the six-tonne machine crushed him at his home near Lake Tahoe.

The 52-year-old is currently recovering in hospital from “blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries” due to the accident and has received an outpouring of love from fans and fellow actors alike.

Showbiz pals including Evangeline Lilly, Hailee Steinfeld, Colin Farrell and Chris Hemsworth have all shared messages of support for the Marvel actor.

Speaking on his current condition, an insider told People: “He is overwhelmed by the showing of love and support.”

His sister Kym recently offered an update on behalf of the Hollywood star, saying that they are “thrilled” with his progress and were hopeful he would continue to make positive strides toward a full recovery.

She said: “We couldn’t feel more positive about the road ahead. If anyone knows Jeremy, he is a fighter and doesn’t mess around.”

Since the incident, The Bourne Legacy actor has undergone two surgeries — one to place metal pins around his legs, the other a chest surgery.

He has also shared photos and clips of himself on social media in hospital, as he’s assured fans he is being nursed back to recovery.

In his first update, Renner shared a selfie showing his bruised face and wrote: “Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

Over the weekend, he celebrated his 52nd birthday in the ICU and took to Instagram Stories to mark the occasion by thanking the medical professionals who have helped him thus far.

Posting a photo of himself in a hospital bed while surrounded by medics, Renner wrote: “Thank you renowned medical ICU team for beginning this journey”.
