Jennifer Aniston has opened up for the first time about how hard she desperately tried to become a mother.

A lot has been written over the years about the 53-year-old actress, who originally shot to fame on hit TV sitcom Friends in the 1990s.

There were countless headlines questioning if she was or wasn’t pregnant, with articles alleging that her first marriage to actor Brad Pitt ended because she didn’t want to have children and was too focused on her career.

Now, she is finally setting the record straight and says the real story was she was “throwing everything” at trying to get pregnant, but without success.

Appearing on the December cover of Allure magazine, she said: “All the years and years and years of speculation... It was really hard.

“I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it.

“I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favour.’ You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed,” she added to journalist Danielle Pergament.

Her Friends co-star Matthew Perry recently released a tell-all book and Aniston fans will be delighted to hear she’ll probably put pen to paper herself.

“I’m going to do that one day,” she told the publication. “I’m going to stop saying, ‘I can’t write.’ I’ve spent so many years protecting my story about IVF.
