Jamie Lynn Spears made a surprise appearance on the Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) finale a week after quitting I'm A Celebrity citing health reasons.

The 32-year-old younger sister of popstar Britney Spears participated in the US dancing competition for just two weeks before she was eliminated after scoring 16 out of 30 for her cha-cha.

On Tuesday she made a return to the dancefloor, taking part in the opening number of the grand finale.

Taking to Instagram afterwards, she shared a slew of pictures of her from behind the scenes, grinning from ear-to-ear while sporting a dazzling gold dress.

"I'm so glad you came back :)" commented her former dance partner Alan Bersten on the post. The internet was of course full of conspiracy theories that Spears quitting I'm A Celebrity to be at DWTS was not a coincidence.

Addressing her departure from the Australian jungle previously, Spears said on Instagram: "I can't wait to share with y'all everything about this once in a lifetime experience, but I don't even know where to start when trying to describe what an incredibly special time and place I had with some of the absolute best humans I have ever met and consider family now.

"Thanks y'all for welcoming me into your living rooms night after night, and for supporting me through all the highs and lows. I'm so grateful for this show, and all of the wonderful people part of it!" she continued.

"I will be taking some time to recover, and spend time with my family, but looking forward to sharing all about my journey on @imacelebrity with everyone! LOVE Y'ALLLL."
