James Corden has described pal Harry Styles as “so special” while opening up about their friendship.

The British star, 44, is set to wrap up eight years fronting The Late Late Show on Thursday but before he bids adieu to LA he discussed his friendship with the Grammy-winning singer, 29.

Appearing on The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM Wednesday, Corden was asked by Stern, 69, if he found it annoying as a celebrity to not command all of the attention when in the presence of Styles.

Corden responded: “I didn’t find it annoying in any way.

“I just think [Styles is] so special as a human, but actually, you don’t have any of those feelings because... like there is someone who wants to embrace the world they’re living into the absolute best that he can and you never ever feel like that.”

Pushing the question further, Stern went on to ask: “I don’t know that I’d do well with Harry Styles and everybody in the f***ing resort is coming up and screaming his name, you know what I’m saying? Do you ever deal with that?”

To which Corden replied, “I think it’s good for me, I think anytime you can have a little bit of humbling is great so when someone comes up ... I’m like, ‘I get it.’ This is arguably the most desirable, famous man on the planet right now.”

Reflecting on their times together, the Tony-winning star said his and Styles’ friendship has been “a positive thing in [his] life.”

Aside from praising the musician, the presenter took a moment to poke fun at himself as he revealed he once attempted to adopt the pop star’s healthy lifestyle on holiday.

Reminiscing on one particular breakaway together, Corden said: “When we went on this one vacation, I made this pact where I said, ‘I am only going eat when you eat.

“I’m going work out when you work out and I’m going eat what you eat and I think it’s going have a really positive impact on me’.

“He was like, ‘OK…’ I lasted 36 hours and I was like, ‘No, I’m out.’ Once I’ve had a drink, I’m like, ‘I should get some fries and I’m on holiday.’”
