Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington may soon be writing a drama series as well as starring in one.
The 27-year-old, who lives in north London, plays Jon Snow in the hit fantasy drama, the fourth season of which will be broadcast in April.
But he also has other plans, telling the Standard: “I’m going to write a bit. TV is an exciting medium to write for at the moment, I’d love to be able to write a drama.
“I wouldn’t confess to knowing how to write, but I know how to come up with ideas.” Of his time in Game of Thrones, he said: “I love being part of it. I’ve known my character for four years now and I’ve grown to love playing him. He is a greedy little bastard, I love him.”
Harington began his career on stage, in the original West End production of the smash-hit play Warhorse. He said: “I always want to go back to theatre, it’s what I started in. When you have a shot at TV and movies you have to take it and hopefully the right role will bring you back.”
The DVD of the third series of Game of Thrones is released next month. To mark the occasion the village of Kings Langley, near Watford, will be renamed as King’s Landing, after the capital city at the heart of the cult show, for a week.
