Housemates will be forced to decide today which contestant becomes the latest to be dumped out of the Big Brother house

Six competitors - Derek, Eugene, Orlaith, Makosi, Science and Vanessa - face eviction and must cope with the cruel twist on usual procedure.

They have been told that Anthony, Craig and Kemal are to go before the public - but will later be told they have been lied to.

Members of the public will cast votes tonight to kick out their least favourite house inhabitant - but the two contestants with the most votes will then go before a housemate poll.

Host Davina McCall will ask competitors to save one fellow contestant and ditch another.

Housemates have already been discussing what they think are this week's nominations - with Kemal anxious not to leave the house.

He told Orlaith: "I still don't feel nominated to be up for eviction by you guys.

"I'm nervous for Friday. I'm nervous about how my exit is going to be.

"Before I came in here I thought long and hard about my entrance and exit and I'm not prepared for my exit yet."

Makosi and Vanessa earlier also considered the possible departure of Kemal.

"He's trying to make a comeback but if he was not up for nomination this week, he'd be in bed," said Makosi.

Housemates prepared for eviction night with a quiz - offering a series of embarrassing answers.

Asked by Derek what book Darwin was most famous for, Makosi guessed: "Far From The Madding Crowd".

Challenged to name the author of the 1988 poetry collection Birthday Letters, Craig made two blunders.

He first named Britney Spears as the poet, before settling on Marilyn Monroe - rather than poet Ted Hughes.

Anthony later told the group that he thought kleptomania had something to do with clapping.

Quiz master Derek hung his head and told his fellow contestants: "My children. My children have none of my spunk in them."
