Harry Styles has been confirmed for a week-long residency on James Corden’s The Late Late Show.

The One Direction star will promote the release of his self-titled debut solo album by appearing on the late night US chat show every night for an entire week from May 15.

Corden announced the news via a video of a FaceTime conversation with the 23-year-old musician, released on Tuesday.

In the new clip, Styles asks his old friend if he can crash with him while he stays in Los Angeles next month.

After refusing an offer of a bed at his house, Styles says: “I want to stay at the studio. I just want to stay somewhere that feels like home.”

“You’re welcome to stay here for a week but there are rules. No house guests. If you’re crashing here you’re going to have to work for it,” Corden responds.

After Corden hangs up the phone he picks up a copy of Rolling Stone magazine with Styles’ face on the cover, saying: “A week of Harry Styles. God help us all.”

Styles is gearing up to release his debut solo album on May 12, after premiering his first solo single, Sign of the Times, earlier this month.

The Bowie-inspired track shot straight to the top of the singles charts in the UK , knocking Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You into second place.

Speaking on last week’s Graham Norton Show, Styles said: “I am excited and really proud of it. I have worked so hard on it.”
