Gordon Ramsay has defended Brooklyn Beckham, following his controversial “raw” beef video shared last week.

Beckham, 23, was slammed for his “reckless” cooking seen in a clip posted on social media on January 6 as he prepared what appeared to be a rare rib roast for his Sunday dinner.

Michelin chef Ramsay, 56, has shared his support of amateur cook Beckham following the backlash, telling Daily Mail: “Brooklyn has grown up with my kids and is the son of dear friends of ours. I haven’t seen the video of his supposedly ‘raw’ beef.

"But even as a 12-year-old, whilst playing football, Brooklyn was always excited about food. So, I’m pleased that he’s gone down that road and he’s found something he really enjoys doing."

Ramsay, who currently stars in the new competition show, Gordon’s Future Food, went on to sympathise with Beckham as he said: “It’s hard, isn’t it? Because he didn’t ask for that level of intrusion from having famous parents.

“It probably came off a certain way, but it’s not his fault. So I have no issues against it. I’m excited. We have another chef joining the mix.”

Beckham quickly became inundated with negative comments following his rib roast video, as viewers pointed out his apparent lack of culinary skills.

“A bit too raw for my taste,” one person wrote, as someone else said: “Might as well bite the cow while it’s grazing”.

“A good vet could bring that back to life”, said another, adding a sick face emoji.

Ramsay’s support of Beckham comes after his mum Victoria also defended him, as she reposted his cooking video and shared her excitement at trying the Sunday roast out herself.

Others fans have backed Beckham for his cooking efforts following the now infamous clip.

One user tweeted: "A bit too raw for my taste but JESUS the amount of people sitting and having nothing better to do than to comment on a 20-something year old’s post of cooking something and clearly being passionate about it is disgusting.”

They continued: "What have you done recently that was remotely productive? Get a life people and let the young lad enjoy life (unlike some of you)”.
