It was Duplaix who raised the profile of the electronic global soul movement by blurring Osunlade's Afro-house, De La Soul, Erykah Badu and spoken word into a languid yet upbeat haze on a DJ Kicks compilation early last year. If that's not enough, Global Soul retains its live element, with the thoughtful, funky and zesty hip hop of Ty showcasing his new LP. And just added to the line-up are two very special guests: Mos Def (his only gig on his current visit) and Mercury and MOBO nominee Terri Walker.
