Girl alone: Cheryl Cole back on American soil after leaving love-cheat Ashley behind
Broken-hearted Cheryl Cole is back in America after spending just 48 hours in London.
With her marriage still in an apparent state of turmoil, the Girls Aloud singer cut a lonely figure as she landed in Los Angeles International Airport last night.
She was greeted by a limo driver holding up a one word sign: "Tweedy", seeming to indicate the star is more comfortable using her maiden name these days.

The Girls Aloud singer, who managed a brave face at the Brit Awards earlier this week, appeared strikingly sombre and drawn as she dodged a pack of photographers who had descended on the airport.
Wearing jeans and a trench coat, she hid beneath dark oversized glasses and clutched her passport as she scurried through the airport.

Cheryl touched down in the UK on Wednesday for the star-studded ceremony after spending more than two weeks in Thailand and then the US with her band mates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts.
During her brief return to London, she reportedly held crisis talks with her cheating husband Ashley Cole, where he was said to have pleaded for forgiveness.
There were reports today she was on the verge of giving the Chelsea and England defender a second chance after allegedly spending last night together at their marital home in Oxshott, Surrey.
But if her latest move is any indication, their 18-month marriage still remains in a dire state.
In recent weeks, Cheryl has made a point of stepping out without her wedding ring after it was revealed in late January that Cole had a one night stand with hairdresser Aimee Walton.
Cheryl is expected to meet up with Nadine Coyle who is believed to have lost her passport in California.
Nadine is apparently waiting for a new visa to be issued by the UK Embassy before flying back to London.
