A double bill of the American medical show helps speed up the end of the series, which arrives next week. And no one, apart from the most diehard fans, will be sorry, because this onceunmissable drama has been ailing badly in recent weeks.
The writers must surely realise that the love-smitten Carter is not a strong enough character to be the main medical man.
However, he swings into action tonight as pregnant girlfriend Kem develops complications (hankies at the ready), while, on a happier note, Abby (Maura Tierney) becomes a doctor at last.
