Emily Blunt has spoken about filming Into The Woods when she was seven months pregnant with daughter Hazel.

The actress, who plays the Baker’s Wife in the film, has revealed how she ended up "hiding behind trees" on set towards the end of her pregnancy.

Speaking to The Edit, she said: “In a way, the part was the only one in Hollywood I could still have done, because it didn’t matter if I was a bit big – the baker’s wife eats a lot of buns! But by the end of the shoot I was about seven months (pregnant) and hiding behind every tree in the woods.”

Blunt, who is married to actor John Krasinski, also spoke about raising a baby in Hollywood, and the different pressures it brings.

“There used to be one book that everyone read, now there’s ‘How to Raise a Gluten-free Baby’, ‘How to Raise a Scientific Baby’… It’s insanity! So I haven’t read anything. I’m just letting [Hazel] do her own thing.”

The actress shot to fame playing Emily in The Devil Wears Prada. Meryl Streep said she was "the best young actress I’ve worked with in some time – perhaps ever".

Blunt said: “I still die (over that compliment). It was a little bit mind-blowing. I think my hair blew back, actually, when I read it. You do a little dance and then you realise you’ve got to try and live up to it!”
