Eamonn Holmes launches blistering attack on Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby amid feud talk

Eamonn Holmes has weighed in on Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby’s reported feud and he didn’t hold back.

The presenters were noticeably absent from Sunday night’s TV Bafta Awards and all eyes were on them during today’s episode of This Morning following alleged crisis talks between ITV and the embattled presenters.

Holmes, 63, didn’t hold back when discussing the subject on his GB News show on Monday.

First referencing their decision to skip the awards show, he quipped: “I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors.”

A former This Morning presenter himself, the Northern Irish star then went on to blast the pair and insisted that regardless of who was presenting the show, it would continue with or without them.

He said: “They may or may not be together on the telly today. The public surely will suss that there’s no chemistry, that it’s a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it.

“It’s an institution, it will carry on no matter who presents it and anyone can check the viewing figures, there’s no difference between whether they present it or anyone else.”

This Morning first launched in 1988 and was originally fronted by husband-and-wife duo Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan for more than a decade.

Schofield has been a familiar face on the popular daytime show since 2002, with Willoughby joining as his co-host in 2009.

Holmes co-hosted This Morning on Fridays with his wife Ruth Langsford from 2006 until August 2021, until they were both “dropped” by ITV and replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
