Duchess of Cornwall pays a visit to Coronation Street

The Duchess of Cornwall popped into Coronation Street's Rovers Return and received a "flying ducks" brooch, made famous by Hilda Ogden, from actress Beverley Callard and the cast.

She arrived this morning after being dropped off by her husband Prince Charles, who briefly stopped to wave to photographers before returning to his car.

New landlady? Camilla gets dropped off at the pub

The planned visit was announced by Director of ITV Studios John Whiston last month.

He said: "We are very honoured to be graced by a visit from the Duchess of Cornwall, it's the perfect beginning to our 50th anniversary year."

Camilla was presented with a bouquet of flowers from the cast after her private tour, before watching a scene being filmed on interior set of The Rovers Return.
