With her sleek blonde hair, sculpted cheekbones and smooth complexion, Debbie Harry bears a striking resemblance to another, much younger, pop icon.

Swathed in a flattering black dress at the Fashion Rocks party in New York, the Blondie singer was the spitting image of  Madonna - despite the 13 year age gap between them.

It is hard to believe that stunning Debbie, who was renowned for her beauty in her younger days, is 63 years old.

Seeing double: Debbie Harry's sleek blonde hair, smooth complexion and wide smile made her look the spitting image of Madonna, despite the 13 year age gap

At the party, she looked startlingly like an even younger Madonna, with her smooth platinum blonde hairstyle evoking the look the Material Girl sported some eight years ago.

Madonna, who is still looking fabulous at 50, is also showing no signs of slowing down with age.

Having convinced husband Guy Ritchie to support the move, the singer is said to be pushing forward with plans to adopt another child.

But they no longer have their sights set on Africa or India, and are instead considering adopting one from Brazil.

Madonna, whose adopted son David is from Malawi, had hoped to give a new home to a three-year-old girl called Mercy James from the same country.

Madonna adopted David in 2006, but sources say she has abandoned plans to adopt a second child from his native Malawi, and is now considering Brazil

But red tape may have led the star to have a change of heart, and a source has told the People: 'Madonna wanted to give David a sister from the same country. But that won't be happening any more.

'Brazil has been mentioned although Madonna has yet to make any formal enquiries to the adoption agencies out there.'
