New Yorkers could soon be stepping out for an 'English' instead of a Chinese or Italian - thanks to Christina Aguilera.

The singer has fallen in love with English food and plans to open a restaurant in the Big Apple's SoHo district between Chinatown and Little Italy. The eaterie will challenge the notion that English cuisine is boring.

A friend of the 23-year-old Stripped singer said: 'Christina loves traditional Sunday roasts and fish and chips.'
