Cheryl Cole wants to (literally) erase husband Ashley Cole out of her life and plans to have her "Mrs C" tattoo lasered off her neck, according to reports.

Single lady: Cheryl Cole could soon revert to her maiden name following her divorce from Ashley

The star, who announced this week she had split from the Chelsea defender after he was accused of having affairs with five other women, also wants to revert to her maiden name Tweedy, The Sun reported.

The Girls Aloud singer has carved a successful career as an X Factor judge and solo artist under the 'Cheryl Cole' title but friends have said that she will go back to her maiden name no matter what the cost.

She is even rumoured to be pressing for a relaunch under her old name and asked her record company Fascination to recall albums set for America and Europe so the sleeves can be reprinted.

A source told The Sun: "Cheryl is resolute that she wants to revert to her old name. It's a shame so soon after her solo launch - but she doesn't want to be reminded of Ashley each time her name is mentioned."
