Cheryl Cole has been voted the most stylish female of the decade – just a week after being named the world's sexiest woman.

More than a third of women believe the 26-year-old singer should be given iconic status, according to a poll by Galaxy.

The X Factor judge stormed to victory ahead of Lady Gaga, who collected 11% of the votes.

Cole has a similar impact on fashion trends as Madonna did in the 1980s, found the survey for Galaxy Counters, released to mark its return from the eighties.
