After ending his Euro 2008 campaign on the losing end to victorious Spain, Chelsea football star Michael Ballack finally has something to smile about as he married long-term girlfriend Simone Lambe.

The 31-year-old captain of the German national football team and Lambe, 30, were officially married yesterday in the Knight’s hall of the Bavarian Palace Kempfenhausen.

And today they exchanged their vows in a civil ceremony on the shores of Lake Starnberg, Bavaria.
