Will.i.am spent the day after The Voice final visiting refugees in the Calais camp.

The pop star, whose act Lydia Lucy came runner-up on Saturday night’s live final, told fans that he ‘needed to come back down to real life’.

Just hours after appearing on the final BBC series of the singing competition, the Black Eyed Peas star headed to France with charity Care4Calais.

Posting pictures of himself meeting refugees and talking to aid workers, Will.i.am, wrote:

“After being on tv for #thevoiceuk finals on the BBC...I needed to come back down to real life and people in need...so I came to the Calais refugee camp on France...”

He added: “I will return with some aid...big love and Thanks to the volunteers and I will PRAY for the people and families here #care4calais.”

In another tweet, he wrote: “I will come back with some aid and relief soon... .@JungleCanopy #care4CALAIS.”

He added: “These lovely people escaped their home because of war and they want freedom and opportunity.

“Remember that they are people just like you and me. Meet these lovely people first hand and you will know the 100% truth.”

The musician is reported set to leave The Voice when it moves to ITV next year, following Ricky Wilson’s decision to quit.
