Apprentice candidate Jordan Poulton, who was knocked out of the show last night, has slammed Lord Sugar for being "harsh" shortly before firing him.

The business analyst was fired alongside Neil Clough and Francesca MacDuff-Varley after the entrepreneur had concerns about whether or not Jordan actually owns his business. Lord Sugar was reluctant to give the contestant a chance to secure the £250,000 investment prize.

Speaking to Bang Showbiz, Jordan hit out at the businessman saying: "I think under the interpretation he was going with it was fair to be frustrated, but the manner in which it was delivered was quite unprofessional and a bit harsh.

"I think if I had made sure my legal documentation was all in order beforehand then I would have probably had a much better chance of making the final.

"I think it was a mistake of me to have not solidified that relationship contractually before the programme started, and maybe I was a little naive in not realising how much that could be construed."

Francesca MacDuff-Varley also blasted Lord Sugar for his lack of "understanding" in her fitness class idea.

She said: "I think he underestimated my talent. But he's entitled to his own opinion. I'll be in business 10 years later just as I've been here 10 years before.

"I just think he didn't get it, he didn't even know what Zumba was. Every female I've ever told about the idea says it's amazing.

"It was a credible plan, he never said it wasn't, but I need someone with maybe a bit of understanding of my industry."

Neil Clough, who was also knocked out in the semi-final, was in tears about the axe. He said: "I'm finding it really tough. I put everything into it. I had one goal to win it so I really feel like I've let myself down at the final hurdle.

"I feel like I disappointed him at the same time and that makes it even harder.

"Watching the episode back was really emotional for me because you could see how much he didn't really want to fire me.

"It hurts me to say it but I think he made the right decision firing me."

The Apprentice Final will air on Wednesday, where Leah Totton and Luisa Zissman will battle it out for the prize.
