Cheryl Cole’s new man's family fear that she will break his heart.

The Girls Aloud star is dating Tre Holloway, a backing dancer that she met on X Factor in 2010.

But Tre’s mother Shirley Holloway said "She might hurt him. She's been married before."

Cheryl, 29, divorced cheating husband Ashley Cole in 2010 after a series of public revelations, but Shirley insists that he would never hurt her.

She told The Sun: “He wouldn't do that. That's not him. He has dated in the past in college and high school but it was nothing serious.

"He never said she was his girlfriend. But he said, 'Oh, she likes me'. I got the feeling he was maybe quite into her.”

The couple were spotted earlier this week having dinner with former bandmate Kimberley Walsh and her boyfriend Justin Scott at Nobu restaurant in West London and they were also seen together at Roka restaurant.

Shirley admits that she is keen to meet her.

"Of course I'm curious to meet her. If this is a serious relationship then I'm looking forward to meeting her because I trust Tre's judgment.

"If he likes her, then she must be a good person."
