Jamie Oliver and his friend Jimmy Doherty will tackle food challenges in new programme Food Fight Club.

The 37-year-old chef will team up with Jimmy's Farm star Jimmy Doherty for Channel 4's Food Fight Club and can't wait to start on the programme.

He said: "It's brilliant to do a series with Jimmy."

The show is described as Top Gear meets MasterChef and will see the pair's studio based in a seaside cafe they went to as children and they will travel the globe taking on "big food challenges".

Jimmy commented: "The show will show Great Britain and the world just how good our food has become."

Jamie is set for a busy few months as he also has Jamie's 15-Minute Meals airing on Channel 4 in a daytime slot in the autumn. Sources say the show will be "pushing the concept of fast, nutritious, everyday food to the next level".

A Channel 4 spokesman added: "Each half-hour episode will offer two 15-minute meals back to back."

As well as Jamie's 15-Minute Meals, it was recently revealed the father-of-four is developing a new BBC America reality show called Chef Race: UK vs. US.

The new show will feature 16 chefs from the UK and US, battling it out for a $100,000 cash prize.

Contestants will be given no money and few resources as they race cross country from Los Angeles to New York.
