A number of celebrities have shared support for Tom Parker after the singer revealed he is battling an inoperable brain tumour.

The 32-year-old announced that he is currently undergoing treatment on Instagram.

Parker’s lengthy statement led to an outpouring of messages from both fans and friends, who wished The Wanted singer well.

Former One Direction star Liam Payne was among the first to reach out to Parker, writing: “Sending you love in this really tough time.”

Former Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington wrote: “Sending so much love and support always.”

Elsewhere, TV presenter Rylan Clark-Neal posted on Twitter: “Sending love to Tom Parker, a gent and a good one. Always the ‘cock of the walk!’”

In a shared message posted on Instagram, Parker and his actor wife Kelsey Hardwick wrote: “Hey guys, you know that we’ve both been quiet on social media for a few weeks and it’s time to tell you why.

“There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and I’m already undergoing treatment."

They continued: “We decided, after a lot of thought, that rather than hiding away and trying to keep it a secret, we would do one interview where we could lay out all the details and let everyone know the facts in our own way.

“We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way.

“We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options.

“It’s gonna be a tough battle but with everyone’s love and support we are going to beat this. Tom and Kelsey.”

Parker has since revealed in an interview with OK! Magazine that he has since started radiotherapy and chemotherapy at King’s College Hospital to prolong his life.
