Dustin Lance Black posted a series of congratulatory messages on Twitter after his fiancé Tom Daley picked up his first medal of the Rio Olympics.

The film producer, 42, shared a picture of his husband-to-be, 22, after he picked up the bronze medal in the 10m synchronised dive alongside Daniel Goodfellow on Monday night.

In a gushing tweet, he wrote: “So proud of you my love!!!Congratulations @TomDaley1994 & @danngoodfellow! #Bronze #Diving #Rio2016.”

Black added: “So happy for you. So proud. #TeamGB #TeamDaley #Diving #Rio2016.”

Daley told fans that he ‘couldn’t believe’ that the pair had picked up a medal in his own Twitter post soon after the dive.

He wrote: “OLYMPIC BRONZE MEDALISTS!! Can't believe it! So happy and proud of you @danngoodfellow :).

“Thanks for all the messages guys!! It was such an amazing and fun night xxx.”

Black flew to Rio with Daley’s friends and family over the weekend and was cheering on his other half from the stands on Monday evening.

After his medal win, Daley said that he would be taking a few days away from the Olympic village before his solo dive next week.

In a message to British fans on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, Daley said: “Hi everyone at Good Morning Britain.
