Tom Cruise kicked off the weekend by hotfooting it to London from Paris for the premiere of Mission: Impossible Fallout.

The Hollywood star descended on the capital with the cast of the latest instalment in the action-fuelled franchise hours after hitting the red carpet in France.

Cruise appeared to be channelling England manager Gareth Southgate by rocking a suit complete with a navy waistcoat.

The 56-year-old was all smiles as he waved to fans outside the BFI Imax in Waterloo before posing for selfies and signing autographs.

He was joined by his co-star Henry Cavill who made sure to colour coordinate in a blue suit as he fooled around on the red carpet.

Rebecca Ferguson, who plays Faust, looked stunning in a glittering two-tone dress which she teamed with leopard print heels.

The new film also stars Vanessa Kirby, Simon Pegg, Alix Benezech, Angela Bassett and Michelle Monaghan with Christopher McQuarrie in the diector’s chair.

It sees Cruise performing a series of daredevil stunts from flying a helicopter to driving a motorbike at 120mph down Paris’ Avenue de l’Opéra and jumping between buildings in London.

The latter saw him break his ankle. In footage aired earlier this year on The Graham Norton Show, Cruise can be seen pulling himself up the side of a building before continuing to run on the broken bone.

He this week admitted that despite suffering the injury months ago, his ankle is still broken.

Speaking to This Morning’s Alison Hammond he said: “I broke an ankle, so they were concerned with running the film. Even though it's still broken, I went through great rehab.”

Mission: Impossible – Fallout is slated for UK cinema release on July 25
